In Les Portes de l?Oisans, Alpe du Grand Serre ski resort is perched on the peak of a col that lies between the Romance and Roizonne valleys. At an altitude of 1,370m, it is flanked by the Taillefer Massif and the Grand Serre mountain. The village (or ?commune?) is made up of 6 hamlets (Le Désert, La Blache, Chabotte, La Cascade, Le Couvent and Jean-Poncet). The village of La Blache is the tourist hub with amenities at the foot of the slopes, ski lifts and the main shops.
